Technical Description

The project’s technical requirements include the following:

1. 1 x PC (Macintosh or PC) that follows the minimum requirements established for the running of Second Life:
-Internet Connection: Cable or DSL
-1.6GHz Pentium 4 or Athlon 2000+ processor or better
-1 GB Ram or better
-nVidia GeForce FX 5600, GeForce 6600, or better OR ATI Radeon 9600, X600, or better
-Keyboard interface for navigation of Second Life environment.
-Sound card

2. 1 x custom designed set of binaural noise canceling headphones/microphones (supplied by the artists)

3. Computer (can be same as Second Life machine) running Max/MSP 4.62. All audio processing and streaming/playback will be handled outside of the Second Life environment for bandwidth reasons. Communication will take place on the local server between the Second Life environment and Max/MSP via Second Life's XML exporting capabilities.
